About One Film a Day
I'm mico. I watch a lot of films — enough that when friends ask "seen anything good lately?", I can always name three on the spot.
But watching and forgetting feels like tossing the ticket stub on the way out of the cinema — like I saw it, and like nothing stayed. So I decided to do something about it: write one post about one film, every day, for a year.
What you'll find here
Not necessarily new releases. More often these are films I saw years ago and never quite left me — the ones where a single scene surfaces at two in the morning. I want to write about what a rewatch feels like, and about the things I missed the first time and only understood a decade later.
The rules are simple:
- One post a day, 365 days
- Whatever comes to mind — honesty first
- Written in Chinese first, then rewritten in English for film lovers on the other side of the planet
Every review carries my rating (1–10) along with the film's title, year and director. The rating is how I felt watching it, not an objective ranking — the same film can score differently ten years apart, and that is exactly the point of rewatching.
The two editions
The English edition is not a sentence-by-sentence translation. It is a rewrite: same film, same opinion, told once more at the rhythm the other language calls for.
About the AI
The opinions, the ratings and the reactions are mine; AI helps shape the drafts and handles the English rewrite. Watching the films is not something you can outsource.
